Christmas front door ideas for your home
Your front door is the first thing guests see. A wreath that fits the door, a frame of greenery and something lit on each side do most of the work.

Size the wreath to the door
A wreath about two thirds of the door's width looks right. Most front doors take a 24 to 30 inch wreath.
Frame the door
A garland around the door frame, with lights woven in, makes it look finished from the street.
Something on each side
Two planters, lanterns or small lit trees on either side of the door give it balance.
Layer the welcome mat
Put a seasonal mat on top of a larger plain or plaid rug.
Light it for evenings
Warm white lights on a timer, so it glows when people come home after dark.
Match your door color
Red doors love green and white. Black doors love brass and red. White doors love everything.
