How the compatibility calculator works
It draws both Human Design charts on your device, then compares them channel by channel. A channel is a line between two centers in your chart, made of two gates; you define it when you have both gates.
Each channel the two of you complete falls into one of four kinds, the classic way of reading a Human Design connection chart:
- Sparks (electromagnetic). Channels where you have one gate and they have the other. Together you complete something neither of you has alone: these are the pulls of attraction, and sometimes friction.
- Shared channels (companionship). Channels you both have in full. You understand each other here without words, and you can simply be the same way side by side.
- One leads (dominance). Channels one of you has in full and the other has no part of. The person without it learns that way of being from the other.
- Give and take (compromise). Channels one of you has in full and the other has one gate of. The full channel tends to set the tone, which can take some give from the other.
It also lists the centers defined only when you are together: places where the two of you feel a steadiness neither has alone.
What you need
Both birth dates, birth times and birthplaces. Without a birth time the calculator uses noon and says so: the Moon moves fast, so some channels can change. Your details stay on your device.

What is an electromagnetic connection in Human Design?
One person has one gate of a channel and the other person has the other gate. Together the channel is complete. It is often felt as attraction, and sometimes as friction.
What is a companionship connection?
Both of you have the same full channel. You meet each other in the same way there, which feels easy and familiar.
Which Human Design types are most compatible?
Any two types can work well. Human Design looks at how two charts meet, gate by gate, rather than ranking types. The calculator shows where yours meet.
Do I need both birth times?
For an exact chart, yes. Without one, the calculator uses noon and flags that some channels may change.
Is this compatibility calculator free?
